Beverley Chapman

Bev started running in her mid thirties after curiosity prompted an entry into the London Marathon. Six months later she ran New York marathon, improving her time by 35 minutes. This new interest in running helped Bev out of a long standing eating disorder. Soon after, Bev took a year out of running competively to have her baby.
Some eight months later and back into usual running, Bev found herself being professionally coached after winning a competition in a magazine. The backing and guidance offered by the coach added a new dimension to Bev’s running, and resulted in improvements across all distances from 5k to 30 miles, and regular prize-winning performances.
Through her work as a psychiatric nurse Bev is experienced in helping others achieve their goals and overcome obstacles.

This skill is further enhanced on the physical side by keeping runners running at her sports massage clinic. Her further studies and understanding in anatomy and physiology allow her to be effective in encouraging others to get the most out of their training and running.

Graham Chapman

Graham had no sporting history when younger. The highlight of his cross country running at school was waiting for the teacher to be out of sight before turning around and walking back to school.
Graham, started running aged 31 after noticing the physical effects of changing from a manual job to a desk job.

He became interested in the psychology of running after competing well in an 80-mile race and actually enjoying it. Subsequently, he studied and gained a diploma in sports psychology. Graham then went on to explore the connection between sports performance and human performance in general by undertaking training as a life coach. This progressed to study and qualification as a hypnotherapist. Regularly, he competes as an ‘average club runner’ on road, cross country, and the occasional mountain, from 5k to marathon and beyond. Graham continues to enjoy active involvement in his local running club, often leading the training sessions.

Both Graham and Bev are fully qualified by UK Athletics as running coaches and are actively coaching athletes from beginners upwards.
